Profile: Foundry Mechanic (m/f/d)

Foundry mechanics manufacture castings of different sizes, materials and characteristics in both one-off and series production. Their tasks include producing and preparing casting moulds and manufacturing cast components using various moulding and casting processes. They operate and monitor mechanically, hydraulically or pneumatically controlled production systems and maintain them.

Your professional skills

• Identify and solve tasks using design drawings and the associated technical documents
• Plan workflows within the production process
• Assemble permanent moulds for the production process
• Set up machines and systems, configure the required operating values and retool them when production changes
• Operate and monitor production systems in compliance with occupational safety regulations
• Safeguard the quality of castings through sampling and testing
• Identify faults in production systems and equipment, take corrective action and maintain production resources

Your requirements

• Care and precision, for example when producing highly accurate casting moulds
• Prudence, for example when working with hot molten metal
• Accuracy of observation and attentiveness, for example when monitoring automated moulding systems
• Manual dexterity, for example when finishing castings
