For heinrichschulte, product safety begins with the selection of the materials used. The company is certified in accordance with the latest version of the German UBA list and relies on high-quality, tested and legally approved materials. As a result, the products meet the requirements relevant to a wide range of applications — from residential properties and hotels to hospitals and charitable organisations.
The UBA Positive List as a benchmark for safe materials
The UBA positive list is an important reference point for the selection of permissible materials in the drinking water sector. For heinrichschulte, it is a key benchmark when it comes to material safety, compliance and the responsible use of tested materials. This results in a transparent quality commitment that applies not only internally, but is also reliable for customers, specialist partners and planners.
Nickel release from chrome-plated drinking water fittings and other components
heinrichschulte has been investing for years in research, development and the expansion of its electroplating operations. A key focus of this work is the question of how electroplated products can be used safely when in contact with drinking water. DVGW Cert has certified the company’s electroplated products with regard to nickel release. This confirms that the products comply with the nickel limit values set out in the UBA guidance.
This represents a first, as an entire production process has been certified to confirm compliance with the nickel limit values.
Our process is also particularly safe in the long term, as the drinking water area within the fittings does not come into contact with nickel in the first place. Consequently, no protective layer can be washed away.
