Toolmakers primarily work in industrial companies in the fields of mould technology, instrument technology, stamping technology or fixture technology.
They are responsible in particular for the industrial series production of plastic and metal products.

• Use tools and machines to manufacture individual parts from different materials
• Programme and operate numerically controlled machines, particularly for injection, compression and embossing moulds as well as stamping and forming tools
• Create fixtures and operating equipment to support or set up industrial production facilities
• Assemble components and subassemblies into tools, instruments, fixtures or moulds
• Produce mould surfaces using precision finishing processes
• Carry out maintenance measures
• Check and optimise functions and processes in terms of quantity and quality
• Use technical documents and information and communication systems

Your requirements

• Care and precision, for example when producing workpieces accurately and true to dimension
• Manual dexterity and technical understanding, for example when assembling components and carrying out maintenance work
